About NAFTC-India

The Netherlands Agro, Food & Technology Centre (NAFTC)-India is a public-private partnership, representing the Dutch agro-food sector in India. NAFTC-India provides Dutch expertise, products & technology relevant to Indian requirements.

NAFTC-India works in close cooperation with the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, the biggest Dutch technology sector association FME-CWM and with various Indian State Governments. We focus on the whole value chain from ‘farm to fork’, offering an integrated approach for both Indian & Dutch businesses and covering major agro/food related sectors.

NAFTC-India is a gateway to the agriculture, food processing & logistics sectors of the Netherlands. NAFTC-India links the knowledge, expertise & technology available in the Netherlands with the Indian requirements through a cluster approach.

Active clusters with NAFTC-India

Various clusters of expertise are functional under the framework of NAFTC-India. The clusters are the entry point for Indian business and Government to the Dutch agribusiness sector and serves as a bridge between Indian demand and what Holland has to offer.

The cluster represents the respective Dutch sectors collectively for a stronger representation of the complete value chain. The active clusters with NAFTC-India are:

  1. Dutch Potato Cluster: NAFTC-India’s potato cluster presently has 10 active members out of which seven are already active for business in India. The Dutch Potato Cluster in India covers the entire potato value chain. Its members have expertise in potato seeds, crop protection, cold chain & ventilation solutions, handling solutions & equipment, farm mechanization, processing etc.
  2. Dutch Dairy Cluster: NAFTC-India’s dairy cluster presently has 8 active members and all the members are active in India. The Dutch Dairy Cluster in India covers the entire dairy value chain. Its members have expertise in animal healthcare management, feed and animal nutrition, cattle genetics, dairy processing and dairy education and training etc.

The strength of the clusters lies in the collective chain approach. By representing the entire value chain the clusters connects Dutch knowledge & technology with Indian requirements. By adapting their knowledge to the specific Indian context & showing commitment with a long-term approach, the cluster members create a mutually beneficial ‘win-win’ situation.

Apart from this NAFTC-India is working on the development of two new clusters:

  1. Dutch Poultry Cluster &
  2. Dutch Education Cluster.
