NAFTC China facilitates business development and representation for its members in China. Dutch companies or organisations active in the agro-food sector with either an interest, or existing activities in the Chinese market can become member of NAFTC China.
NAFTC China is based in Beijing, close to the market and relevant national platforms and institutions that have a dominant position in China’s agriculture and food sectors. The centre creates and maintains Sino-Dutch networks from which the Dutch members can benefit and through which they can channel their expertise, products and technologies to their target market according to the specific Chinese requirements.
NAFTC China has good relations with the agricultural counsellor at the Netherlands Embassy in Beijing. We often discuss the mutual programs and see where we can strengthen each other.
Members of NAFTC China are serviced by DMFC, with a local company in Beijing. Being local is essential for effective business development in China. Still many Chinese companies are hesitating to contact foreign or overseas people, and prefer to talk in their own language to local Chinese people. Having a good relationship with local people is preferred in China above the foreign relation. The local relation is the trusted partner for the Chinese company. The office of DMFC, serving NAFTC China, is this local relation and trust.
Currently active clusters within NAFTC China are:
• Orange Potato
• Orange Pig
• Orange Poultry
• Orange Feed
Clusters in development are:
• Orange Dairy
• Orange Cold chain & Fresh produce
By implementing the cluster-wise approach NAFTC China aims to bring solutions and products covering the entire production and marketing chain for agricultural products, from ‘farm to fork’. This results in a win-win situation where both countries benefit from the optimization and professionalization of the Chinese food sector.
